Aims and Scope

Chinese Journal of Thoracic Surgery (ISSN 2095-8773; CN 11-9357/R; CJTS; www.thecjts.cn), under the auspices of the National Health Commission of the People’s Republic of China, was founded in 2014 with the Chinese Medical Association as sponsor and the Shanghai Chest Hospital as the undertaking sponsor. The journal is published quarterly in both print and online formats with papers covering all aspects of thoracic surgery written by authors from all over the country.

CJTS publishes articles that focus on thoracic surgery in a wide range of forms and aims to meet the professional and educational needs of its readers. Published articles include original and review articles, editorials, case reports, editorial commentary, letters to the editor, study protocols etc. In-depth research, instructional and educational video clips, photos, and schematics will be warmly welcome. The high quality of its content is assured by a rigorous review process, supervised by a strong editorial board.

CJTS has been selected for inclusion in a few esteemed Chinese journal databases including the China Knowledge Resource Integrated Database (CNKI), China Core Journal Alternative Database (Wanfang Data), and Chinese Scientific Journal Database.

About Shanghai Chest Hospital
The Shanghai Chest Hospital is affiliated to the Shanghai Jiao Tong University and was the earliest established Grade A tertiary specialized hospital in China, specializing in the treatment of heart, lung, esophageal, tracheal, and mediastinal diseases. It integrates medical treatment, teaching, and scientific research, and has 964 beds and 23 clinical wards. The thoracic surgery department, featuring the management of the widest spectrum of diseases and the most comprehensive technology subspecialties in China, performs more than 14,000 surgeries each year, with more than 90 percent of these being minimally invasive surgery. Submission Turnaround Time
• In-house review: 1–3 weeks
• External peer review: 1–3 months
• Publication ahead of print: within 1 month after being accepted
• Formal publication: within 1–3 months after being accepted. Original articles are considered priority.
